2100Pro OTDR is designed for testing the integrity of fiber optic cables. The device can verify splice loss, measure length, and detect faults. It can be used to create a "picture" of fiber optic cables when they are installed for the first time. In case of problems, a second trace can be taken and compared with the original trace. It is always easier to analyze an OTDR trace when you have documentation from the original trace created when the cable was installed.
