Optical light sources provide stable, controlled optical signals for fiber optic power and loss measurements. When paired with an optical power meter, a light source enables technicians to measure insertion loss and verify the performance of fiber optic links.

3S Telecom offers handheld optical light sources for single-mode and multimode fiber testing, with commonly used wavelengths such as 850 nm, 1300 nm, 1310 nm, 1490 nm, 1550 nm and 1625 nm, depending on the model. Multiple output wavelengths, modulation functions, and connector interfaces are available for different testing applications.
