Mid-Span Access Tool is also know as Longitudinal Buffer Tube Slitter, especially designed for slitting the fiber optic patch cord or pigtail’s outer jacket. It is an efficient and indispensable tool for fiber optic cable termination. It easily slits the PVC cable jacket into two halves before crimping, in both field and plant applications, time is saved and consistency is resulted with this precise and innovative tool. It can slit loose tubes of ￠1.5mm to 3.3mm longitudinally. It has 4 rails on the body. Each rail is for the tube of specified diameter so that the stripping precision can be improved.

Step by step instructions:
1. Choose appropriate groove according to the diameter of the cable to be slit.
2. Put the cable into the groove, pay attention to the blade's position on the cable with the length to be slit in mind.
3. Close the slitter and hold it firmly with one hand, then pull the cable out with the other hand.
4. Check the processed segment of the cable, there should be two rips on the jacket which completely separate the jacket into two halves.
